Yup... just wanted to say in case everybody decided to start cooking in order to avoid having to pay for lunch when they've actually already paid!
Hexi Stove and anthing that comes in a tin for me, prolly sausages in Spaghetti
and muchos of
just for the record, if you're using hexi you might want to do it outside:
Hexamethylenetetramine releases formaldehyde, ammonia, carbon oxides, hydrogen cyanide and nitrogen oxides when burned.
i don't want to be breathing that in an enclosed space!
Agreed DM!
If its raining then using a hexi outside will not be fun!

myself and gadge were talking about it yesterday, i need to pick up a cheap gas stove this week sometime.
Rhys be grateful sillyacts is the one thing I know I don't have, 5+ years of suffering and am still non the wiser stupid Gastroenterologists
anyways
I can't eat cheese but I can eat pasta PMSL I tend to do pasta with soup Major tis yummy specially leek and chicken cuppa soup and pasta when out in the wilds.
took them almost 6 years to diagnose me so dont fret heh. and aye im aware lunch is included but if you cant eat it.....
as for gas stoves aye much easier. I'll bring both mine incase someone wants to borrow one
I would use the Gas stove I bought for Churchills, but Heather Stole it.
And yea Agreed about the Hexi stove, and I was gonna have it for Brekkie not lunch! I'm quite looking forward to this said chilli!
Steady chaps - it's going to be a blummin nightmare if stoves are fired up all over the place in a busy and narrow safezone at lunchtime. If you use cookers outside be prepared for rain (I suppose the mouth of the tunnel would be OK).
For breakfast bear in mind you are going to have to be up early and kit cleared out ASAP - easiest solution is to nip out to the nearby roadside snap wagon.
There will be lunch provided. It was chilli last time - they use a catering slow cooker thingy cooking overnight. IIRC there was a microwave there so that is a possibility for individual use.
Hmm , Pot Noodles all round
I wasnt meaning to cook in the safezone heh more meant outside even if its raining as I doubt I can eat the chilli. and no worries I'll be up, cooked, and ready with brekfast and cleared away in plenty of time besides prob cant eat what the snack wagon sells unless i want 2 rashers of bacon on a plate
Aye, no probs - I meant special needs apart. It will be chaos if everyone tries to do their own thing.
Yup... if you can, please eat the food provided!
It was very nice if I remember right... I went back for seconds...
PAH pot kettle calling us "special needs" CW
:
Its in the greater name of mankind and the rest of you that I will not be eating chilli nor a bacon butty, I could have the bread but hardly going to keep me going so I shall be mostly having PODDIDGE mmmm for which I'll just need heated water (assume tea urn will suffice that)
and a cuppa. Dinner hmmm
as said if theres Jacket spuds I can have the tattie so if on offer I will make use of that, just won't be risking the chilli, no offense to whoever makes it, I really like chilli, unfortunately the feelings aren't reciprocated and it doesn't like me
so rather than let it make me ill it will be a pass on that for me as well.
Yeah, we could do without the industrial-strength chuff in the safe zone...
ok, so that's breakfast and lunch sorted, is there a plan for food on the sat. night?
Thought I'd better say that I won't be having the chilli, yup I'm another one with a dodgy tum .
Can someone confirm whether there's a microwave and will we be able to use it? as that will help me plan what I can bring with me to eat, otherwise it's going to be whatever I can heat up over a camping stove.
spoke to Andy yesterday pete and yep theres a microwave. camp stove foods more fun tho
pahh , all im haveing is german rye bread (i tastes lovley , honest ) some beer in green bottles, some acorn coffee and some apple strudel
.
i may eat some captured allied chocolate too ( cadburys wrapped in tinfoil and brown paper )
"Take that you rotton helping of strawberry flan!"
Joseph Porta to "strawberrys and cream", in the sven hassel book ,ogpu prison
Is that a polite request that the allies take such confectionary ? Never heard of acorn tea, sounds intruiging and vile at the same time
god knows where ill get it, ersatz coffee was "supposedly" made from roast acorns ,
can anyone veryfy this
i know that german kids were given saccarhin candy, (bet they had huge headaches)
